Ready for your first 3lb plus Brown Trout?

Just in time for the new season which commences on 18th March, Brown Trout make a welcome return to the Leadon. We've seen plenty of coarse fish restocked since Julys devastating pollution but I'm pleased to report that the Environment Agency have pulled out all the stops to ensure that our members will have Trout to fish for this season. And plenty of clunkers in there too so PBs are definitely on the cards! Yesterday we restocked around 200 fish up to 3lbs into a number of sections between Durbridge and Cutmill Farm.

To help us assess the recovery of our Native Brown Trout population the triploid farm fish were marked up with a blue spot on their belly. The EA have also provided log books which will form part of this seasons membership pack so that we can record more precisely what we catch. Please make sure you also update the online catch return.

Its been a tough few months since the hit in July but I have to say the support from Brecht Morris and Chris Bainger along with others from the Agency has been tremendous and should hopefully see us get through this tricky period intact.

Thanks also to Ray Johnstone, Mike Chester and Barry Townsend for supporting the committee on the day. (And Steph of course!)
